As a young Senegalese, I have always had a passion for African wax and African fashion. As a young child, I remember my mother taking me to the seamstress down the dusty and sandy road where I would pick the most colorful fabric she had and she would confection the most beautiful «Taille Basse» outfit (Senegalese Traditional ensemble) for me.
As I grew older and my taste in style changed, I would design modern clothing sketches and have them made.
As I traveled across the globe, I couldn't always wear the Senegalese Taille Basse outdoors. But still wanting to keep a «piece of Africa» on me, I would always pair my everyday outfit (you know your typical jeans and tshirt) with a bright color head wrap made of African wax.
My mom taught me how to make and sew head scarfs (and other accessories) and everyday would show me a different way to tie it (confidence: it was also a way for me to hide many of my bad hair days). After getting lots of compliment on my style and inquiries on where to purchase my clothing and I decided to start designing and selling them and so NasikaWax was born.

Since fashion has no boundaries, our mission is to share our passion for fashion and Africa with the world !
